Mais vale tarde do que nunca :)

Já fez um mês desde que encerrei o ciclo da minha tese, mas com a correria que é habitual nos dias de hoje .... os dias foram passando e eu não agradeci a todos aqueles que realmente merecem, por isso:
Acknowledgments

When I came down to writing the special thanks, I realised that I was near to a close. I tried to make a balance of the year that went by to remind me of everybody I should thank. This was a particularly difficult year for me and there are many people I must thank, because without their support I would not have achieved my goals.

To my family:
The Women: To my MOTHER, my aunt Nininha and my grandmother Teresa, who have already left us, but with whose support I am sure to count on, from wherever they are, to my aunt Tiza and my cousin Manela, for being where I could not be and for encouraging me to finish what I had started. I wish one day I can be as “Grand” as you are.
The Men: To my FATHER and to my grandfather Alberto, who has also already left us, my thanks for your encouragement to always go ahead and for inheriting from you this stubbornness of mine.

To my friends of yesterday, all those who are in Portugal but who I always felt close to. To you Andreia, who went back home earlier but kept being part of my daily life and kept saying I could do it, thank you very much!
To my friends of today, all those who made the sun shine here in Leuven, even when it was raining. Very special thanks to Patty, to Gosia, to Susana, who never let me feel lonely. To Luis, to Wassim, to Adrian and to Joachim, who made my life at MTM so much easier.

To K.U.Leuven, who made a dream come true. To Professor Celis, who guided me through this project with a great amount of patience and kindness. To all those who during my research taught me everything I know now. My thanks to everybody at MTM and particularly to Animesh, to Doctor Ye and to Tom, who have always been available to clarify my many doubts with a smile.

Last but not least, to Universidade do Minho. To Professor Luís Rocha, who has always trusted that I could do it. To Professor Ana Pinto, someone I will never forget.

The people who we like the most and who like us the most, the people who teach us more, but who also like to learn from us, are those who do not always tell us what we wish to hear, but they always tell us the truth… MANY THANKS!
